This animation film is very different to the animations you normally watch because....it has a very slow pace, in fact your going to hate this film if you are an impatient viewer.

The movie is set in a peaceful world where people do not age...instead they just mature through their personal feelings. These children are fighting a war, well to the media it looks like it but they are in fact staged aircraft battles to entertain the public through public broadcasting....

One of these pilots is a new recruit who just arrived at the aircraft base. Assigned to a small squad and not knowing any of the members he soon becomes familiar with the routine that they follow everyday....which also leads him to discovering his past

To be honest with you, this movie is complete trash. Like 90% of all comedy movies, its got a great start but then the storyline becomes so stupid that you think you want 90 minutes of your life back after watching it. This was how I felt after watching this movie.

The movie is about a lady who has never fell in love because she is such a worka-shopaholic. His brother decides to help her as he is very superstitous, believing that he can only have a happy love life only when his sister does. The brother seeks out a love doctor and then they go on from there to help the sister....

Generally I dislike movies with a bad storyline and this is one of those, if you just want to crack a laugh or two then give it a try otherwise dont bother

This movie is the bomb. Based on a true legend Ip man, Bruce Lee's Master...the movie guides us through his astonishing life and events revolving around it during his settlement. One of the most important which occured was the Second Sino-Japanese War, the largest Asian war in the 20th century. This lead to Japan controlling China and soon the streets of China were patrolled by Japanese troops. Surviving became extremely difficult as there were not enough jobs and resources. Eventually the people of China could not earn enough to buy rice...so they went to the Japanese knowing that the General was interested in martial arts. The Chinese people in search for the General arrive at the Dojo...and inside the arena they find out that the General is holding fighting contests...between the Chinese and Japanese. For each Japanese person they defeat they will receive a bag of rice....

This leads to one of the most intense scenes in the film where Ip Man takes on 10 Black Belts....

This film is one of the best movies from Hong Kong this year....being nominated for 12 awards in the Hong Kong Film Festival...you cant be wrong watching this

Body of Lies

Body of Lies was originally a novel but was made into a movie this year. It is about the war of terror featuring America vs Middle East in which 3 men battle a terrorist organisation together...but at the same time with each other..

Themes of violence and betrayal flow throughout this movie. The film concentrates on American's foreign policies which is why it is not very popular but still it provides a brief insight of terrorists. After watching this movie it makes you think..."Why do they use suicide bombers", "Was their work for the God they worship or was it just for themselves" and most important of all "Does the religion of Muslims actually mention anything related to the terrorist attacks".

A fair complex film but its not bad once your half an hour into it.

Hangover

This is the first successful Hollywood comedy movie I have watched this year as it not only has a decent story line but manages to pull laughs throughout the entire movie. The story is about 4 friends who decide to go crazy the night before their best buddy's wedding so they head to Las Vegas and get crazy.

They wake up the next day finding themselves with many questions....theres a chicken walking around, a baby locked up in a room, a sleeping tiger and wedding photos which they never recall of taking but most important of all...they realise their best buddy who has a wedding tomorrow goes missing....

Searching across Las Vegas the group of 3 encounter many problems such as stealing a police car, getting zapped in the nuts, held in a hostage situation and many more.

The movie does not get boring at all and its a strong reccomendation.

For those of you that have seen Coach Carter you will love this, for those of you that love basketball you will also love this....this film is an adaptation of a true incident which revolutionised USA College Basketball.

Traditionally college basketball was for white people where as the blacks play on the streets...

A new coach arrives at Texas University, without much resources and a below average team...he decides to seek a method to win the championship which was...recruiting black players.

This broke the unwritten laws of USA as traditionally...there was only 1 black member allowed in a basketball team and now this coach wanted his whole starting line up full of negroes, the first the NCAA had ever seen in history. Of course this caused major controversy, wherever the team went racism followed...Truly inspirational motion picture..

District 9

Usually I do not watch Sci-fi but this seemed fair interesting and it turned out like I thought it would be. One word. Average.

Aliens arrived on Earth 20 years ago and have settled in an area designed specifically for them by humans, this area was known as District 9.

Situated in Johannesburg this area Aliens were governed and controlled by an Alien Affair Agency and one day they decided...lets move all the aliens from District 9 to another location because it has been disrupting all the African residents.

Like every other movie, something goes wrong which was that one of the officers assisting the evacuation of the aliens devoured Alien DNA....this DNA infused with the officer will eventually mutate him into an alien. Should he ask help from the humans which are horrified by his situation or should he turn to the aliens and become one of them...

Watch to find out....if your into this kind of stuff ;)

Our final review tonight will be about the movie which features the Best Male Actor and Supporting Actor for this years HK Film Festival. Literally the film title should be translated as witness but thats not really important.

The plot of the film follows the routine of a cop who stumbles across a case. A girl has been kidnapped however the family of that girl does not want him to engage in the operation as the cop killed the sibling of the kidnapped girl in an accidental operation....

Acting under unsupervised conditions..the cop continues his investigation underground

What is special about this film is the fact that the actor which won the prestigous award of Best Male Actor was the antagonist of the film and more importantly I thought of him as the supporting actor rather than the main character...but maybe the awards only mean Best Male Actor disregarding the role they play

But wouldnt that completely rid the purpose of supporting role award?

Just something to think about

Anyways this movie is entertaining and suspenseful at the same moment
